 | Fresh November Steelhead |
Joe Brasile from Manhatten, NY, a bonified "City Slicker" with a down right gorgeous Salmon River steelhead. Check out how fresh his steelhead is. You can tell it came right from Lake Ontario as it's ventral and anal fins are so clear. You can't get any fresher than this!
Joe's no stranger to the Salmon River. He enjoys
escaping the hustle and bustle of the city by going fly fishing in his spare time. November is a peak steelhead month where anglers can catch fish weighing anywhere from 2 lbs. to 22 lbs. They're agressive salmonoids that are sought after by anglers from all over.
People pay big bucks to fish other parts of the country and a trip to the Salmon River is very affordable. Joe came up fishing the day after Thanksgiving and fished the Salmon River for 2 days. To see his other gorgeous steelhead, please take a look in our photo gallery.
Joe sent me an e-mail saying, "both caught on blue sucker spawn in the DSR, the Flats and then Meadow Run. The 1st (bigger) fish took about 10 mins. and took a nice run downstream and had to chase it for about 40-50 yards. Second fish took around 5 mins., more or less stayed put."
