 | 9-11-06 Salmon River Report |
You can't get any fresher than this story...hot off the press! The Kings are coming in and look, some brown trout too! Harry, a local from Pulaski, NY with a nice female brown trout and a Chinook (King) Salmon he just caught out back in the "Town Pool". The brown looks to be about 6-7 pounds and the King about 18 pounds. Harry was in the Salmon River
Sports Shop around noon and I walked over to let Brant know that the fish started to come in heavy this morning since I got a call from the Douglaston Salmon Run around 8:00 am. Harry got excited and said, "that's it, I'm going fishing". So, here you have it. Not even a half hour later and Harry has fish. He's on his way to the fish cleaning station next door to have his fish cleaned. Which by the way, yesterday (Sunday), some 31 & 32 pound King Salmon were cleaned at the fish cleaning station across the street from McDonald's on Route 13. Rick runs both cleaning stations. The one across the street from us called "Nobles" and the other one is behind the "Driftboat Inn" up by McDonalds.
