 | Brooklyn NY Twins Catch Salmon For First Time! |
Meet Alaina & Dana Kovalsky (Twins), age 21 from Brooklyn, NY, both "S.R.V.'s" (Salmon River Virgins)........not anymore though. Alaina is 8 minutes older than Dana. It's their first time salmon fishing and their father, Mike, hired our guide service. Our very own "Guide Mike" was their guide. The interesting thing about these two beautiful young ladies is that while they're both twins, their mother conceived and then the
next month she conceived again. It's a rare occurance and there's a name for it however I"m not sure what it is. Anyways, these young ladies were great! Guide Mike said it was a pleasure guiding them and their father, Mike, was a fun spirited dad, just enjoying his girls fish for salmon. They each caught 7 fish and landed their first fish at the same time. They caught Coho Salmon, Chinook (King) Salmon, and Brown Trout. At one point they all had a fish on at the same time. Dad caught some King Salmon too and when they got back to our shop they all bought Yankee Fly & Tackle Shop sweatshirts as souviners. I am so glad that I was able to set this trip up for you and it was my pleasure. I won't forget how the lights went out at 4:00 am this morning when a storm passed over Pulaski NY. I brought up a candle to their apartment as they stayed the night before with us before their guided fishing trip. The lights were only off for a few minutes and the rain we received was just enough to bring a nice load of fish in. Was it the "motherload" we're all waiting for? No, but a big enough load to keep everyone happy. Click Here to see more pictures of their trip and I didn't even put all of them in my gallery so what I can tell you is that the fishing is great! (For us anyways) and we have had a 100% success rate so far this season with all of our guides. I don't care what the news reports say or what anyone else says, the fishing is GREAT for Yankee Fly & Tackle Shop Guide Service.
Thank you very much Mike, Alaina, and Dana for supporting our family owned business. We hope to see you again in the very near future.....you were a pleasure to guide and have as lodging guests. Sincerely, Dawn & John Rucando, and Guide Mike.
Note in the picture above.............all the rocks. This time last year there would be water over these rocks. Yes, we're in a drought however there are salmon, brown trout, and steelhead trout coming into the river on a daily basis. The mouth of the Salmon River is boiling with fish and the lower end of the river from Lake Ontario to the 81 Pool is where it's at. The salmon WILL run and they WILL spawn, and then DIE. If you can't find or catch a salmon in a foot or less of water, then you should take up checkers!......or hire us to guide you!
Call us at 315-298-2466 or 6253. We have openings left for night time drift boat fishing or daytime river fishing.
