 | PRIVATE PROPERTY: NO FISHING |
After five seasons of putting up with disrespectful anglers, I have now decided to post my property: PRIVATE! So, anyone who wants to fish behind my shop must now seek permission from me. You must come to the front of my shop during shop hours and you must ask first. If it's not crowded and I feel it's okay for you to fish behind my shop, then you must purchase something. For now I am requiring a minimum purchase of $10. I am also limiting the time of fishing. You will have two hours. I want everyone to have a good time here and catch fish. I do not want people on my property who do not support my tackle shop. While I do not "own" the river, I do own the property beneath the river and if you're on
it, standing, walking, or wading, you're trespassing. Once you're warned first by me, you have the opportunity to leave. If you do not leave or continue to be on my property, I will have you arrested. I"m not joking or playing around here folks. I am a business owner and I gave you 4 seasons to take care of my property. Last year I had a sign up that read, "You Keep It Clean, We Keep It Free".......and while most of you were pretty good about it, there were a lot that were not. So, consider it "weeding". I'm "weeding" out those who don't give a shit, trash my property, and have the nerve to buy all their gear from another place and then litter it on my property. There will be no hogging a spot. If I give you permission to fish on my property you will have 2 hours and then another angler will have a chance. It's not fair that you stand there all day long and hog a spot when I have lodging guests, shop customers, and family members who all want the opportunity to fish and catch a fish behind my tackle shop. So, if you're upset, too bad. It's my property and I can post it. I have every legal right. The Douglaston Salmon Run took their case to the US Supreme Court and they charge $30 a day to fish on their property. At first everyone was pissed off and now look, the DSR has had sell out days. So quit your whining and be a good sportsman.....respect the river, the other anglers, and the property owners. Last but not least, put yourself in my shoes. What if you were in the same situation? What if you had property and wanted to post it? Would you like people trespassing on it? Certainly not. These new rules I have are for each day. Each day is a new day. Jus like the DSR. Each day costs $30 down there and each day it's a minimum of $10 purchase from my shop....not this...."I bought a soda from you last year b.s."
