 | Pulaski New York: Salmon River Fishing Report 10-8-07 |
Another awesome morning of fishing for our guide service keeping our 100% success rate going. Meet Ben Day of Georgia who drove 16 hours with his two buddies, Steve & Todd to take a 2 day/3night lodging special with us. So far it's been great for them and they all landed plenty of fish with fly rods....so many that their arms hurt! Now I know you've been hearing that
the fishing pressure has been heavy however, do you see any anglers in this picture? Our guide service can put you in a place where there aren't any crowds. This Saturday, October 13 we had an unexpected cancellation and it's now open. We can take up to 3 anglers. Our rates are the following: 1 person/$275, 2/$350, 3/$500. If you want this full time Salmon River NY Guide you better call me tomorrow with your credit card number to reserve him because it won't last long. 315-298-2466/6253 Fly fish or Spin Fish streamside fishing, sorry, no fishing from our drift boat due to low water. As for the report, a "mini load" came in today and the fishing was great throughout the lower end of the river from the Route 3 Bridge in Port Ontario until the 81 hole. Steve Surmik from the Georgia group caught a Salmon River Grand Slam today which included a Chinook (King) Salmon, a Coho Salmon, a Brown Trout, and a Steelhead Trout. The brown trout was a small female in the 4 pound range and the Washington strain steelhead trout was so fresh, it's fins were almost see through...it was a small female in the 6 pound range. All fish were caught with fly rods and flies today. CLICK HERE to see more pictures and call us if you want to book for this Saturday 10-13 or any other dates we have listed on the front page of our site. There are still more fish to come in the Salmon River and all the drift boat guides agree that it will postpone our season. The fishing should continue to be good until the end of November and into December. The rain we did receive was enough to ignite the salmon in the estuary to come in however Lake Ontario Charter Captains are still catching salmon in the 80 FOW range.......there's more to come folks, to be contiued...........
For more detailed reports based on your skill level and equipment use, please come see us at our shop and we can give you the info. you need. We're open every day from 4:30 am until late.
