Salmon River NY Fishing Report 10-10-07

General
It's what you've been waiting for folks........the motherload has arrived, I repeat, the motherload has arrived.  We've been getting rain the past few days and it's raining again this morning as I type this report at 4:44 am.  I haven't been to sleep yet, doing yet another "all-nighter".  Guide Mike said it was awesome yesterday for his clients and the same was said for our other 3 guides: John, Tony, and Nate.  It was fantastic and every guide's clients caught fish.  There were some nice steelhead caught

too, the washington strain.  Guide Mike said he actually saw a King Salmon attack a small steelhead in the 5 pound range and it bit right into the steelhead's face.  Immediately after the steelhead went belly up and Guide Mike and Guide John tried to revive it for almost a 1/2 hour but the puncture wounds in the head and side of the cheek were too much for the steelhead to take.  Salmon are very territorial and aggressive.  They will attack another salmon or trout and they will strike at a fly or bait.  Ya just gotta know how to piss 'em off!  So, hope to see you soon.  We'll be pulling long hours this weekend.  Whoever stole my No Trespassing "sign, that's okay because I knew it wouldn't last.  Sign or no sign, it's still "NO TRESPASSING" on my property behind my tackle shop.  You must enter the front of my shop and seek permission.  If there's not too many people out back fishing, then I'll gladly allow you to fish for an hour or two provided that you buy something from my store.  Anyone who goes on my property without permission will be arrested.  All I have to do is ask you to leave and if you don't, I will call the DEC and they will come down (gladly) and arrest you.  Think I'm kidding?  Try me.  Unless you're Jesus and can walk on water, the riverbed beneath the water is mine out as far as the middle of the river......where you can't wade anyways.  I have no regret in what I"m doing and for those of you who are mad at me, hey, that's fine.  You're probably the same people who trashed my property in the first place.  Please shop elsewhere because I really don't want your business.  The vulgarity, unsportsmanship, unethical fishing practices......it's all going to stop in the "Town Pool".  You just wait and see.  Someday it will be a pleasure to fish back there without all the animals that are there now.  Anyone who has something to say to me can say it to my face.  Your emails and phone calls are a waste of time.  For all of you who are supporting me, thank you.  You and I both know that it's all worth it.  Soon more will follow with the postings of their property due to the low life "so called" anglers that are out there now trashing our properties and one of our precious resources, the Salmon River.  Pulaski does't want your kind anymore don't you see?  Pulaski wants respectable sportsman to visit our area and support our economy........Pulaski does not want the rift raft.
