 | Salmon River NY Steelhead Adventure |
  Being persistant paid off and Ester & Mark Kelling ended up with their steelhead to take home from the Salmon River NY and cook up for dinner. They went with "The Mayor", one of our Salmon River NY Drift Boat Guides who took them streamside and via
drift boat for two days. The first day was a learning experience for the two of them. They learned about the river, how to wade, how to cast, and how to set the hook. They hooked into steelhead but just couldn't land them on the first day. Besides, Ester got cold and that was that....the day ended. Back to Yankee Fly lodge to relax in their suite complete with a full kitchen and table where Ester prepared "The Mayor" and myself a delicious dinner. My favorite, egg plant parmesan. Hey, the salad and warm bread with wasabe cheese was delicious too...yummy and thanks so much for treating us to dinner! Out on the river the next day and ready for anything that comes their way. They're dressed in layers and have hand warmers in their pockets. Nothing's going to stop them from catching fish. They have their "Steelfaces" on. It's a good idea to take two days in a row with your Salmon River NY Drift Boat Guide because if you're a novice, you have a lot to learn. Taking a drift boat ride down the Salmon River is a great way to see the river and to get from one spot to the next. It's a beautiful time of year to see the gorgeous fall foliage and breath in that nice crisp air. Thanks Ester & Mark....we hope to see you again before Thanksgiving.
