 | Nut Deep In Water.......Salmon River NY |
Meet D.J., one of our shop customers and a former "Ledge Lizzard". He's becoming quite the fisherman with his centerpin set up he bought from our shop last year. He's on the Salmon River NY every chance he can get....that is, when he's not working, fighting fires, or sleeping. He's one of my sets of eyes on the river this winter season and he's ready to take some great shots of
fellow anglers and drift boat guides in action. He took this picture, CLICK HERE, of an unknown angler "nut deep" in the upper section of the river. Now this particular angler, whoever he was, didn't seem to realize that standing in that deep and that far out is very dangerous. D.J. said that it was a windy day and shortly after he took this picture, a tree limb came crashing down very close to this nimrod (hey, it's appropriate as I'm using somewhat fishing language.....it has "rod" in the word!) and almost took him out. In my opinion, he should have casted behind himself as all the steelhead were right there......going around and behind him! What a nimrod! So, you'll see people like this on the river and if you do, please take a picture and let me know about it. I'd love to get some shots of anglers or guides behaiving badly.........kinda along the lines of "Girls Gone Bad"......I think you know what I'm talking about. Let's expose those who have no fishing etiquette and that are downright ignorant when it comes to fishing the Salmon River NY. They're probably the same people who throw their trash along the river's edge and in the parking lots....oh, and yes, fishing line IS litter!!!
Thank you D.J. for your digital eyes and for your good sportsmanship. With more reports like this, I"m sure we'll have more and more anglers showing better behaivor. You have coined the frase, "Nutt Deep In Water".
Tight lines, Dawn Anyone who wishes to contact me in Florida you can reach me at my home phone number, 305-664-9988.
END NOTE: D.J. will be patrolling my property along with some other appointed anglers and will be making sure that no one trespasses. A reminder that there is no fishing permitted behind my tackle shop without my permission first. All trespassers will be given one chance to leave immediately and then the Pulaski Police or the NYS DEC will be called and will be instructed to make an arrest. Everyone that is looking after my property has digital cameras and police cell phone numbers. This goes for all fishing guides too, not just anglers. Thank you for respecting my property.
