 Women's Fly Fishing Seminar: June 14, 2008

General
Terri Belve, NY Steelhead, Salmon River Pulaski NYCalling all Ladies to the Women's fly-fishing seminar!
Women’s Fly Fishing Seminar- June 14th 2008
In cooperation with the Lake Ontario Steelhead Association, (LOSA) and the Salmon River Hatchery, we are pleased to announce a special fly fishing seminar geared exclusively for

women over the age of 16 looking to simply learn, or improve their fly skills. This seminar will cover information and hands on instruction pertaining to Lake Ontario tributary-style fishing but can be applied to many other streams, creeks and rivers.

In this seminar, students will learn basic stream entomology and how it applies to tying flies that fish species may consume. Hands on basic fly tying will be next. From there, you will learn how to assemble, rig and make basic fly casts with traditional fly rods and reels. There will be top notch female and male instructors will be on hand to give everyone ample time and effort. After a short tour of the hatchery and its operations, a deli-style lunch will be provided.

Following lunch, all participants will assemble on the water for further instruction and hopefully…to catch some fish!

Date, location and time:
June 14, 2008  The NYSDEC Fish Hatchery In Altmar, NY
The NYSDEC Fish Hatchery is located on County Route 22, one mile northeast of the Village of Altmar.

Course starts at 8AM sharp – lunch at noon – course ends by 6PM

Dress and equipment:
Dress for the weather. Waders recommended, but not necessary. Please make sure you wear a decent pair of hiking boots or wading shoes if you intend to “wet wade”. For your safety - no sneakers or open-toed sandals please! If you have a good, working fly rod set up, by all means bring it. If not, we will provide as much as we can for you to use for the day. Please bring hats, sunscreen, bug repellent and any other thing you may need to make your day comfortable. This will be a rain or, (preferably) shine event.

For each participant to have a quality experience, we are going to limit the class size to 20 total, on a first come - first serve basis. The course cost is $20, and you must register by e-mail or snail mail, no later than June 1st, 2008, saying that you will attend to:  Lindsay.Shukoff@kodak.com
