 | Getting Prepared To Fish The Salmon River NY |
  Here's an email that was sent to me today by someone that wants to know what they need for their Salmon River NY fishing trip. The moral of the story is this: You need nothing prior to your departure (as far as fishing gear & tackle goes)and buy from where you will be fishing. If you support that retailer, they will inturn supply you with priceless information, tips, and tactics, not to mention, the
appropriate tackle you need.....not something that others "think" you will need.

This was my response to this gentleman....."John Doe, Thanks for your email and I'm glad you're planning a trip to the Salmon River this season. I would like to say this: We are a fly & tackle shop and we would love to outfit you with a set up. Why don't you wait and stop by our shop when you come into town? This way you can get exactly what you need? We have EVERYTHING for everyone's budget so it will all depend on what you want to spend.
All you need to do is get lodging accomodations NOW for that time of year because it will be difficult if you wait too long. Know how many people in your party and for how many nights. Leave the rest to us.............fishing licenses, gear, etc. Besides, we know where the fish will be right? A retailer where you are will not.
Please let me know if you need help with lodging. I am in Alaska right now. If you need a guide too, I can also help you with that. We're everything:
