Fly Fishing Upstate NY Conditions: Salmon River

Fly,Spin,Spey,CenterpinHigh River Levels Calls For An Experienced Salmon River NY Fishing GuideIf you're planning a trip to the Salmon River in Pulaski NY this spring you really should consider hiring an experienced fishing guide.  There's so many to choose from and picking the right one is very important.  Be sure to ask your guide if they have "high water experience" because most do not.  They will tell you they do however we see them on the river all the time and when they're

crashing their clients into trees, banks, bridge abutments, or even knocking themselves out cold by miss judging a tree limb in high water (ouch!) well, that's downright dangerous.  Your safety is our number one priority and like in this picture, we will make sure you can cross safely.  The Salmon River in Upstate New York can be very dangerous especially in our spring season when we have snow melt and spring showers to consider.  If you're coming a long ways we strongly advise to lock up a full time drift boat or bank guide who is local or has at least 10 years or more of experience. Our service always has a Plan B and a Plan C.  We are constantly on the search for areas to fish and we are in contact with other experienced guides who think like we do.  Please be careful if you're wading on your own and you choose not to hire a guide.  You'll need a wading staff, a wading belt, and warm clothes.  Be sure to have polarized fishing glasses so you can see where you're stepping in the river as well as protecting your eyes when you pull back hard and your split shot comes flying back and hits you in the head!  Seriously folks, it's no joke.  Last but not least, the fishing for our guide service is at a LEVEL 3.  Check in our photo gallery where a picture says a thousand words!  Give us a shout even if you want to take a 1/2 day trip.  We are always on call for last minute bookings! We're not the cheapest, we're just the best.
