  Happy New Year everyone! What a great way to end the 2009 Season with a NY Steelhead caught from a drift boat. Brian from PA who earns his living as a butcher, decided to take a winter steelhead drift boat fishing trip with his buddy, Scott. Or...was it the other way around? Brian landed 3 brown trout and lost 2 big steelhead prior to pulling this trick out of the bag at the "Last Chance Hole". He's never done this type of exteme fishing before, especially in the cold winter month of
December. He learned quickly how to properly thaw his waders and to explain and give him some credit as to having the decency not to bring his fishing waders inside his motel room, Brian chose to leave his (already used) waders in his car overnight. Talk about waking up with a stiffy, well this was the ultimate. He had no idea on how to rectify the problem at hand so his guide, told him sternly, "Go! Stand in the Corner...I mean the River!" and it worked! Laughing with our guide service is what makes the trip....even if it's at YOUR expense! Thanks Brian, you made our list! Scott on the other hand only had one fish on all day and was a good sport about it. He had a trophy size (over 15 pounds by our strict standards) NY STEELHEAD on and it jumped out of the water, shook it's head, and spit the hook! Bye, bye Mr. PA guy, until next time or maybe April? Scott can talk about the one that got away and if no one believes him they can call me to verify or read this story.
