Advance Bookings Cost More and Walk-In/Same Day Rate Costs Less.  Are you willing to gamble?  Typically this time of year you do not need a reservation however there are some busy weekends and if you want to be comfortable and not sleep in a place where your back will feel broken the next day on the river, our beds are very comfortable.  Last but not least, everything you need is within walking distance so when you're day is done on the river, you shower and simply walk across the street to the River House restaurant for a drink and a bite to eat or walk over the bridge and do the same at the Golden Dragon (Chinese), Margarita's (Italian & Mexican), Hometown Diner, Mr. Subs (pizza, subs, and tacos), or the End Zone Bar (chicken wings & bar food).

The Brown Trout Apartment, Yankee FlyThe Brown Trout Apartment has the best Salmon River NY views overlooking the "Town Pool" or as we know it now, "Dawn's Hole".  All of our apartments are 2 bedrooms.  With this apartment you can hear the salmon jumping in the "Town Pool" behind us during the peak times of Sept & Oct months. It's pretty cool!  Be the first on the Salmon River NY and simply roll out of bed and catch HUGE fish!!! See chrome steelhead roll from your window.   Just looking at the Salmon River NY is very peaceful and relaxing.  Sit and read a book while watching your loved one fish from shore.

The King Salmon Apartment, Yankee FlyThe King Salmon Apartment is the largest of all 3 apartments and has a big kitchen when you enter.  It has a large livingroom and a large bathroom.  All of our beds are non-back breaking TWINS that are very comfortable.  Our linens are fresh and clean as well as our bedspreads.  We like to keep our lodging "Wife-Approved" and we like to keep the river outside where it belongs.  Our guests understand this and appreciate getting a good nights rest because "Quiet Time" starts at 9:30 pm.  No worries of other guests being loud or carrying on.  It doesn't happen at Yankee Fly.  Our lodging is for mature guests who want to fish and have a good time and know when it's time to turn the lights out and keep it down.

Owner: Dawn A. Rucando
I've travelled all over and understand that people want a clean/safe place to stay and that's what I want too.  Sure I want to save a buck and try to get a "cheap" room however when it comes to: 1. bed bugs, 2. theft (vehicle or room) 3. convenience (saving time & money) and 4. getting a good night's rest, I believe one should consider all the benefits my lodge has to offer.  I am all about being clean, hence the "Wife Approved" statement.  This is my number one priority because we want our guests to feel comfortable and not skeeved out!  :)  As far as safety goes, Pulaski NY is a small town and if there's anything going on illegally, we locals know about it fast!  We have the Mayor's home number and the Chief of Police's cell number....and we know them personally.  We have never had a problem at Yankee Fly and although during the peak Salmon Run there are some vehicle break-ins (certain parking spots like the Black Hole, Sportsman's Pool, and Papermill Hole), we encourge guests to report it.  Also, we encourage guests to leave their valuables in their room vs. in their car.  It's unfortunate but it does happen....here, and all over the world where there's heavy seasonal tourism.

There's nothing worse than going to a place and being woken up in the wee hours by rude guests who could care less.  It's frustrating and you can't get back to sleep.  This is why I stress on my site that we do not want certain guest types and we let prospective guests know up front that we do not tolerate it.  I run a tight ship here at Yankee Fly and our place is for mature people who have "Been there, done that"!  There are some places in town that are like this and we can certainly recommend them for you and your party.

Consider all of your options and know that I provide what I would want in a nights stay.  I certainly wouldn't want to rent an "efficiency" with a stove and fridge and find out that I have to go out and buy pots & pans and utensils.  That's ridiculous!  (We were told this by shop customers when they booked at Super 8)  The only thing we overlook is the Salmon River NY people!

What guests like to do:
1.  Bring a crock pot full of food to heat up later
2.  Bring a casserole and heat up in the oven
3.  Buy steaks at TOPS grocery market off the Pulaski NY exit and grill them out back riverside while casting a line in the "Town Pool" or "Dawn's Hole".
4.  Order Chinese, walk up town, pick it up, and bring it back to the room and watch tv and relax
5.  Walk across the street (before 9 pm) and have dinner at the RiverHouse Restaurant

Keep in mind:  Everything you need is right here in downtown Pulaski NY!  Dawn will help you devise a plan of action at check in!
