WEEKDAY Rates: $299 based on 1-2 people Sun-Thrs
WEEKEND Rates: $399 based on 1-2 people Fri & Sat
Where: Mouth of the Salmon River, estuary, shoreline of Lake Ontario New York, only 3 road miles from our lodge & shop.
When: August 21 thru Sept. 18 2011
Includes: 1 FREE night of lodging and 1 GUIDED trip with rods & tackle/bait (addl' nights' lodging=$59 wkday or $89 wknd)
Style of Fishing: In a drift boat with 1 or 2 adults. If a parent with 2 small children want to go, this is fine too. Trolling and/or casting for King Salmon as they leave the depths of Lake Ontario NY to enter the Salmon River. No waders needed. This is great trip for KIDS or ELDERLY. This type of trip is not like a Lake Charter where one may get seasick.
Trip Times: 6pm to midnite, 9pm to 3am, midnite to 6am
These trips are also known as: "Sunset Salmon Trips" and "Nightime Salmon Trips"
NOT INCLUDED:
1. NYS Fishing License ($12 resident, $15 non-resident, Kids under 16 FREE)
2. Gratuity for your Guide/Captain which is mandatory and the same rule applies like in a restaurant, which is anywhere from 15-20% of trip cost. You can always tip more if you like! :)
3. Food & Drink....please bring something for your Guide/Captain, whatever you're having is fine. Our Guides/Captains LOVE to EAT and it always makes them happy when their guests bring food. Trust me, you WANT a HAPPY Guide/Captain!!! :)
4. Cleaning Charges of fish....expect to pay $3-$4 for each fish you catch to have filleted and bagged. This covers the cost of carcass disposal since it's against the law to throw fish carcasses in the river or along the shorelines of Lake Ontario NY. This is why Pulaski NY has "fish cleaning stations".

WHAT TO EXPECT: Beautiful Lake Ontario New York sunsets if you take the 6pm trip, heart pounding EXCITEMENT, REEL SCREAMING ACTION, SLIME and MORE SLIME, "Fish On!!! and Fish Off!!!", the smell of campfires, possibly a FULL Moon rising depending on what trip you take, BIG FRESH SALMON that are leaving the depths of Lake Ontario New York to head upstream to spawn in the Salmon River. Did you know that Salmon are nocturnal fish? The BEST action is at NIGHT when they're on the MOVE!!! A sore arm after battling one of these MONSTERS!!!
GAME PLAN:
1. Find a "solid" fishing partner, friend, relative, buddy, etc.
2. Pick the dates you can come and pray for the best! This time of year is OFF PEAK however there are salmon coming in and sometimes it's slow and then it's hot and then it's slow. It's the "Salmon Gamble" as we like to call it and that is why we offer discounted prices. Mother Nature and her weather patterns are what control the "Salmon Gamble" game and we as guides/captains know that she can be nice or she can be bitchy.
3. Fish, sleep in the next day, and then fish the property on your own since were located in downtown Pulaski NY directly ON the Salmon River NY and BIG Trophy salmon & trout pass through our backyard and private property.
DON'T WORRY...if you don't have fishing equipment or waders, we RENT hip boots for $15 a day and rods for $20. We have what you need to be successful. Sizes 9-13 insulated hip boots in adult sizes. It's pretty cool to have someone who's never battled a salmon or a fish that's over 20 pounds and they come for a vacation and catch fish in our backyard on their own! It's amazing to see and we're pretty dang proud of what we have to offer. You can't go anywhere and battle fish like this for the prices we offer, hands down.

WHERE: Salmon River, lower, middle, or upper section
Trip Description: Same prices however if you want to fish the river and go on foot, we will supply the hip boots and take you streamside and you can cast for salmon with either a fly rod or a spin rod. We will supply all the rods, tackle, flies/bait. A drift boat may or may not be used depending on river levels. If it's too low to float, your guide will walk you in. River Guides do not want to damage the bottom of their boat on big rocks. You must be able to walk/hike/wade, and fit into a pair of hip boots that we supply ***If you are overweight, we cannot take you on this adventure. IE: A customer showed up and was 4' tall and 4' wide. He/She was not able to pull a pair of hip boots up over their knee, nor were they able to put on any other type of wader we had in the store. We had to cancel the trip for that person and we were out a day's pay. If you believe you may be overweight, please let us know up front otherwise if you do not disclose this to us and we cannot take you due to the reasons stated above, we will charge you our days pay/trip cost with your credit card you made the reservation with. You can email us a picture of yourself and/or let us know your measurements/height/weight by email or on the phone. Thank you for understanding. Lake Charter Trips on Lake Ontario NEW YORK can accomodate heavy set or "portly" anglers and they are available from June through mid September. We can assist you with one of these trips. The price is $500 for 1-4 anglers. Trip Times: 5am to 12 pm or 1 pm to 8 pm
STREAM SIDE or Walk-n-Wade Salmon River Trips
(this trip requires the ability to run up and downstream chasing BIG salmon & trout on slippery rocks. Felt bottom or spiked/cleated footwear is mandatory. One must have a quick reaction and be able to listen to their guide while running and reeling at the same time and yelling FISH ON!!!") This trip is great for kids ages 10 and up through adults up to age 50 who are in great shape. This trip is not for feeble people or people with health issues, bad knees, hip replacements, heart problems, or the inability to walk on flat pavement let alone run on river rocks.
TRIP TIMES: approx. 5 am to 11 am and 1pm to 7 pm depending on sunrise and sunset times. These trips are 2x's a day from late August to early October. Regular prices on these trips are $399 weekday and $499 weekend based on 1-2 people.
NOT INCLUDED: Any "private access fees" to private sections of the Salmon River, IE: DSR or Douglaston Salmon Run, or any fishable area that requires an access fee. Our guides will never charge you upfront, however they will advise you that there may be additional fees and it's up to you whether or not you want to pay extra. Keep in mind, our Guides/Captains WILL BE WHERE THE FISH ARE and that's the bottom line.
Reservation, Confirmation, and Cancellation Policy: 60 day written notice on all reserved trips. All reservations require a credit card as security along with names & ages of all attending persons. A deposit may be required in a check or money order form within 7 days of reservation. You are considered BOOKED/CONFIRMED the moment you book online or call and give your credit card information. With this noted, you authorize Dawn A. Rucando, Yankee Fly & Tackle Shop, Wife Approved Lodge & Premier Guide Service, and www.FishTheSalmonRiver.com to charge your credit card if deemed necessary. If you cancel or change your reservation we will gladly refund your reservation if we are able to rebook your canceled or changed reservation, minus any administrative fees. WE DO NOT TOLERATE people who reserve with us and then shop around to find better deals or better dates. Advance bookings are always best however we do permit "walk-ins" and rates can be negotiated. All advance bookings are booked at the advertised price. Extreme Weather & River Levels are at the Guide's Discretion to fulfill or cancel. Weather related cancellations on our part will be rescheduled or refunded within 30 days. If you make a reservation within less than 7 days, you authorize us to charge your credit card if you cancel by phone or email or a "No Show". You understand that as the booking/reserving person, you are liable for the cost of the reserved trip. You are responsible to collect the cost of the scheduled trip from the people in your party prior to arrival. You understand that as the booking/reserving person in charge, you are responsible to settle at time of check in with cash only. No other form of payment is accepted. Cash only on all balances of trips/reservations/special packages, etc.
We reserve the right to cancel your reservation should we find you abnoxious, high on drugs (RX or otherwise), at time of check in. We will gladly refer you to another hotel,motel,lodge in the area. Your entire reservation will be charged to your credit card and we will credit you back any portion that we recover with a "walk-in" reservation.
PETS: If we find that you sneak a pet into our lodging facility, we may charge you a pet cleaning fee up to $500 and we will immediately cancel your reservation and have you leave our property. NO PETS means NO PETS. We will gladly refer you to an establishement that allows pets.
SMOKING: Evidence of smoking in our establishment will terminate your reservation immediately and incur a $500 fine charged to your credit card. This charge covers the inconvenience to the other guests and the cleaning of the apartment. NO SMOKING means NO SMOKING. Absolutely no exceptions. Smoking is permitted outside in designated smoking areas, not in front of any entrances or exits.
ROOM CHECK IN TIME: After 3 pm during Sept & Oct, After 12 pm all other months.
ROOMCHECK OUT TIME: Before 10 am during Sept & Oct, Before 12 pm all other months.
All guests must be registered.
Quiet Time: Community Lounge & Wader Room CLOSES by 9:30 pm. Guests lodging with us understand that we are not a "party place" and that we are about getting a good nights rest and fishing, fishing, fishing. We do not tolerate loud, abnoxious, or intoxicated guests.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY:
You understand by reserving that you assume all responsibility and liability and hold Dawn A. Rucando and/or her Guide/Captain affiliates, not responsible or liable for any injury or loss while on the property located at: 4819 Salina Street, Pulaski, NY 13142, also known as: Yankee Fly & Tackle Shop, Wife Approved Lodge & Premier Guide Service, and www.FishTheSalmonRiver.com, or on a fishing adventure/Guided Trip. You release the above mentioned business or DBA of all legal liability and stay & fish at your own risk. You understand that fishing can be dangerous and any fishing adventure onsite or offsite can be dangerous causing injury or loss. You and your party will be required to sign a release of liabilty form prior to check in.

Sept. 19-Oct. 24=Absolute Peak which means LOTS of people and the prices go from $399 weekday to $499 weekend for just guiding and NO FREE LODGING. These trips are ON the Salmon River and they're booked "Guide's Discretion" which means the guide decides whether or not he/she is going to take you in a drift boat or walk you in somewhere....even if it's OFF the Salmon River and in a tributary of Lake Ontairo NY. The bottom line is that our Guides/Captains will be where the fish are, rain or shine, high water or low water, wind or snow.
