 | Salmon River NY Fishing Report: 3-11-11 |
  The Salmon River in Pulaski NY is running at very high levels which are not fishable to bank anglers or drift boat guides. It is advised that everyone stay away from the Salmon River until further notice. Many people are wondering, "When exactly is that?"
We have been getting a lot of calls today and with our past experience, it is our opinion that the river will recede once the forecasted rain stops. It takes a couple of days for the river to recede and we are predicting that by next week and as early as Monday it should be fishable to drift boat guides, not bank anglers. While circumstances change on a flip of a dime up here in Pulaski, New York, only the experienced people who are in the fishing business can advise you accordingly. Safety is our #1 concern and while we want you to have a great time fishing with us, it's best to let us handle any cancellations or reservations. The good news is: tons of new rainbow trout & steelhead are coming into the Salmon River NY as I type this report. Just yesterday morning our full time guide service caught and released a beautiful seven pound rainbow trout with the river level in flood stage. This was to prove a point and that point was that we know what we're doing and what's safe and where the fish are. We do not advise anyone to fish the Salmon River now or within the next few days because it's dangerous. We do advise this: To hire a high water drift boat guide for the SPRING fishing months of March and April.
