Dawn,
If you haven't seen or heard yet flows are going up to 4,200 CFS tonight. Forecast is for an inch of rain and reservoir is a foot from top of boards. I was just on my way back from Oswego and Brookfield Power Company called me to inform me of the flow increase so I am trying to get the word out. It should be on the waterline as I asked them to get it up as soon as possible. Don't know what the duration will be. Stay dry, good fishing wherever it can be found, Fran
Thanks for the heads up Fran. We locals are use to changes like this and
we are prepared. We live it so we can handle it.
Bob from Marathon, NY arrived today with his lovely and hysterically funny, wife Patty. They were a bit concerned with the high river level of the Salmon River in Pulaski NY as most people who had a planned trip were. Nonetheless, they were open minded and ready to fish under "whatever" conditions. Shortly after Bob suited up and Patty was cooking a pizza in the King Salmon apartment, I looked out the window and saw Bob on his cell phone. He was trying to call me to tell me to come outside and see what he caught (these were my instructions after I told him where to stand and cast). I wanted to prove to the viewers that depiste "not-so-perfect-conditions", it IS POSSIBLE to catch a fish in high river levels. After the mission was accomplished, they took a guided drift boat trip with full time local guide, Anthony Gulisano, aka "Tony G.". The weather was downright miserable but they had open minds and in the end and after the snow, yes!!! SNOW!!!, they had a fabulous Salmon River NY SPRING drift boat trip......I mean, ADVENTURE!!! Here are some of their pictures......oh, and Congratulations!!! to Patty for winning the "Couples Fishing Bet" as she caught the most steelhead. Bob on the other hand....he LOST the most steelhead but is still a winner because he gets to fulfill the "Couples Fishing Bet" with his lovely wife, Patty.
