 | BIG water, BIG fish, BIG fun! FL Keys Vs. Pulaski NY |
  Mid morning the day before I get the call from Georg (yes, there's no "e" since he's German and they don't have an "e" at the end of George......anyways, "It's chocolate milk on the Battenkill and we want to catch some nice trout and
we're up from Florida on vacation, can you help us out?" As I'm taking another sip of my morning coffee, multitasking two other guides and trying to upload the pictures from the day before, I say, "Sure, I can put you with one of my full time local drift boat guides." After about a 15 minute reservation process and a bunch of details the call ends with, "Okay, we'll see you around 8:00 am-ish and remember, we're "Keys People" so we may be a little late!" "No problem Georg & Susi, I can handle it and we'll see you in the am, drive safe." The rest of the day goes by juggling a bunch of paperwork, cleaning, reservations, etc. and it's time to take a drive south to Syraucse for some last minute turkey shopping (opening day of spring turkey hunting season is May 1st and goes to May 31st) and a sushi meal in Armory Square, not to mention a few other places that spark our fancy. The wee hours come fast and all the while it has rained and the Salmon River in Pulaski New York has risen dramatically! I get home and look out back off the deck and see the river splashing up against my last deck step. Sh*!, that's high and looks like chocolate milk. It's not the end of the world but it wasn't what was yesterday (showing that things change in a matter of hours up here in Pulaski New York). The clients show up and with some concern on their faces but they're "Keys People" so they're laid back and cool. We're comfortable right away and the meet and greet goes well. Off to the river and the ADVENTURE BEGINS!!! (see the pictures below)
Thank you to Georg & Susi for trusting us and for making the best of a tough situation. It really stinks when the clients get nervous and second guess us so being laid back was great. Full Time Local Drift Boat Guide, Anthony Gulisano, aka "Tony G." enjoyed his day on the water with you and looks forward to the next ADVENTURE with the both of you! Have a safe flight back to Florida.

FACT: Dawn Rucando use to winter in the Florida Keys in Islamorada and her daughter is named after one of the famous Keys.......it's a fishing thing baby!
