Douglaston Salmon Run, Pulaski NY
Douglaston Salmon Run
Drift Boat Streamside Lake Ontario Charters Oneida Lake Charters  DSR Access  Salmon River Reservoir

We have early private access to the Douglaston Salmon Run (DSR).  We do not charge extra for our private access passes (as some outfitters do), they are included in our trip prices. What does "early private access" really mean?  It means that we, our guide service, can access the DSR before the general public.  This means that we are able to enter the DSR before anyone else.  Only a limited amount of select guides are able to do this therefore it's beneficial to us and our clients to get you set up in a prime fishing hole before anyone else.  We are not able to fish until legal fishing times which are a 1/2 hour before sunrise.  Keep in mind, not ALL guides have "early private access", so if you want to fish the DSR be sure to ask your guide service.  Also keep in mind, the DSR is the place you want to be when the season starts in late August.  This is the first place the Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Skamania Steelhead, Washington Steelhead, Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, and Atlantic Salmon come through.

What is the Douglaston Salmon Run (DSR)?  For those of you who don't know, it's a private controlled acess Sportfishery with 25,000 feet of the Salmon River Shoreline.  Basically it's the first 2 1/2 mile stretch of the Salmon River NY.  The DSR allows 350 fishermen daily in order to create a more pleasurable fishing experience on the river.

The DSR's goal is to promote sport fishing through conservation and education, while providing a safe, clean and enjoyable fishing experience.  They abide by NYS Rules & Regulations and have their own set of rules and regulations as well.  Stream cleats (Korkers) are strongly suggested and mandatory beginning November 1.

Private DSR access passes loaned to customers of YFT
Daily Angler Access Fee : $30 from August 18, 2007 to April 30, 2008.  This is what it would cost you, the angler, if you go on your own to fish the DSR.
