A Salmon River NY Drift Boat Guide writes in an email to me: "Dawn, My best friend Jason Kollbaum who occupation is the general manager for the best buy in syracuse worked hard cutting wood and doing some other outdoor chores in the cold for four hours,I had told Jason if we get done early we should hit the river for a few hours which we did.Got in the water around 2:30pm and began to fish.With two beers each(boat maximum) we were not fishing very hard and Jason was just getting down the whole Centerpin thing.The day we had from there on out was one of those days where everything is perfect.We had landed 7 for 8 in an hour and a half.Jason had lost a huge fish.Right before dark his float sank,At first I asked J if it was big,He said no(wrong)I saw his pole throbbing and moved the boat out of the fast water,J still thinking it was small.Then he saw it and did not say another word for 15 min.Within that 15 min.The fish swam up,down and out of the net.With one last run J dipped the pole down and landed the fresh taste of cold steel and it will hang for him to remember forever.FISH-ON!"
